I just wanted to share this wee story with you about my new extra large salt lamp. First not only does it look lovely but my 2-year-old twins had found other therapeutic uses for it. We have been having bad colds and in the midst of our last one I discovered wee Olivia had climbed up to the lamp and started licking it. So of course her sister Sophia joined her. I decided to let them do what they needed to and just had a good laugh watching them lick the lamp in obvious delight. They did this repeatedly for a few days then the licking and the colds stopped (and have not come back). Don’t you just love how this all works. These wee ones are excellent teachers. So there you go you can add another, albeit very humorous use to these wonderful salt lamps. Thank you so much.

At the herb farm we sell the beautiful Himalayan salt lamps and lights and also the bags of salt for people to use at home. We also chose to include Himalayan salt crystal in two of our new products when we extended our range. I was impressed with the properties of the salt and we have received wonderful feedback on these products. When I developed our new Rosehip exfoliate I included Himalayan salt for its high mineral content and because it exfoliated beautifully while being gentle on the skin. I formulated two deodorants, Active Natural and Fresh Natural and used the sole made from the Himalayan salt as a base for these products. We add herbal tinctures, essential oils and other ingredients to the formulas. However the Himalayan salt sole plays a big part in the formula giving an antibacterial effect. These deodorants have been top sellers as they are gentle and effective and of course above all completely natural and safe to use.

At 4 weeks old my daughter Star developed a very bad hormone rash. As there was no history of eczema in either family, I assumed the angry red rash on her neck and genital region was just this rash getting worse. She was diagnosed with eczema at about 8 weeks old, and I then began researching into how to treat this naturally. Tony from Lotus Magik recommended that I bathe her in Himalayan Crystal Salt bath (a handful dissolved in a baby bath) twice a week for 20 minutes, which I commenced when she was 10 weeks old. She is now almost 16 weeks old and is almost 100% clear and her skin feels wonderfully soft - no longer dry and rough.
